Getting Started
The place to begin is to look at your service organization as an outside observer. This can be difficult to do as it requires you to detach yourself from your assumptions and beliefs. Compare this to an archeological expedition, where you don’t know anything about the site, but what you can see at the location. The advantage you have over an archeologist is that you will be able to speak with the natives to learn their culture, collect artifacts and their professed values, and the reality of what really happens.
Insightful observation leads to an awareness of true performance – if you know how to look. We are trained to help you see your organizations in new ways and what cultural perspectives influence the design of work.
There are several ways that service organizations can begin using The 95 Method© to improve performance. Personal Reconnaissance involves a personal study of your service system and you will be guided through steps to to get a sense of the opportunity for improvement.
A second alternative is to have a 95 Method professional study your system with you in a one-two day review in what we call the Micro-Dig. Together the 95 Method professional and the company representative take a look at the system to understand the scope for improvement.
A third option is the 4-day In-House Workshop that takes a group through a series of activities to understand your culture, design and the customer view of this design.
The fourth option – called the Big Dig – is to study your service system with a dedicated team of managers and workers over a 2-8 week time period (dependent on the size of the organization). This study will give you an in-depth view on culture, design, measures, capability to meet customer demands and the resulting organizational performance.
