There is a new book out that is changing government and its thinking about the design and management of work.  The book is called Delivering Public Services that Work.  The book is good for anyone in government, but the case studies are for health care, social services, police and fire.

The last chapter is written by John Seddon and challenges the assumptive nature of shared services in government.  As in most services, government management has embraced shared services to cut costs. However, the opposite is happening as costs increase across government services.

The format of the book is not written by Vanguard Interventionists, but instead by clients that explain their journey through the use of the Vanguard Method in their respective services.  Contact information is available for these folks in the form of telephone numbers and email addresses.  The important thing is to know there is a better way!
